Het begon met een naam ‘Dutch IPA’ en een aantal heerlijke IPA’s, gebrouwen door Brouwerij Dockum.
Aan ons werd gevraagd om een logo, visuele identity en packaging te ontwerpen. Dat hebben we gedaan, maar pas nadat we een sterke brandstory creëerde die nu al een aantal jaar dient als basis voor alles wat door DUTCH IPA wordt gecommuniceerd. 

Dit is nou typisch zo’n heel leuke klus waar we onze ziel en zaligheid in hebben gestoken. We zijn trots op het resultaat en genieten nog met regelmaat van de heerlijke IPA’s. 

MEET THE DUTCH CAPTAIN IPA. 

He regularly sailed around the world to look for new flavors and aromas  for his beloved drink … IPA. 

But his journeys did not go without a hitch. He had to overcome many dangers. 

From harsh storms to cunning pirates and from hungry sharks to the sizzling heat. But nothing could stop the Captain from achieving his goal! Armed with his good courage and a can of DUTCH IPA, the captain was invincible. Captain IPA’s boat might have been made of wood, but the captain himself was a man of steel.

The stories and great finds of Captain IPA can be found on the DUTCH IPA cans. Each label tells about the dangers he has had to overcome and about the flavors that prevail over the relevant IPA.

YOU WILL ENCOUNTER THE BRAND STORY IN ALL TOUCHPOINTS.

We have extended the concept of the captain and his world travels to find the tastiest flavors for his IPAs in all expressions. In the brewery, on the website, on social media and in advertisements.
The brand story lives on as long as Captain IPA has a can of DUTCH IPA in his hand.

MEET THE MAKER.

Bas Oosterwal is the illustrator of Captain IPA and designer of the packaging. Bas is the co-founder Creative director of Cogonez.

MERCHANDISE.

We have developed a merchandise line for Dutch IPA. T-shirts, hoodies, bean bags, glasses and even gift packaging.
These items help make the brand better known and make it part of a lifestyle.
